DaDaFest is seeking individuals who are interested in theatre making to take part in a programme designed to equip you with the tools you need to become professional artists.
The programme will cover various practical and performance techniques, enhance theatre based performance skills and introduce you to useful business based skills,
The programme is for artists over the age of 18. who are at the early stages or start of their careers and who identify as disabled, D/deaf and or/living with a long-term condition or illness.
Dates
20 three-hour sessions taking place weekly on Mondays starting 3 February 2020 and finishing on Monday 29 June 2020 (no sessions on bank holidays)
Time
Sessions will take place between 5pm and 8pm
Venue
The Majority of the sessions will be held at Unity Theatre but some sessions will take place at other arts venues across the Liverpool City Region
Access
Access support and travel can be provided for participants on the programme
What will you be doing?
The theatre makers’ programme has been created to enable artists to build their own professional portfolios through weekly skills sessions. The sessions will either take place in a theatre space (The Unity Theatre) or a location relevant to the session content. All workshops will be as fun, practical and interactive as possible.
Towards the end of the programme, there will be an opportunity for the Theatre Makers to pitch an idea with the possibility of a commission to develop future work or share a live performance.
Who is leading it?
The sessions will be led by professional artists, facilitators, creatives or experts with industry experience. The programme is being run in partnership by Unity Theatre and DaDaFest.
Capacity
A maximum of 8 places will be offered on the programme.
Cost
The theatre makers’ programme is a free training programme.
Booking information
To allow us to allocate places on the programme you will be invited to an open workshop on Tuesday 21 January 2020. The open workshop will be held at Unity Theatre between 5pm and 8pm.
For the open workshop you will need to prepare a two minute presentation about you. You can deliver the two-minute presentation/performance in any style you like. The two minutes must express why you want to be on the programme, what you hope to get out of attending the programme and what you can bring to the programme.
