This month Youth Music supported 'DaDa Makes Music' culminated in a live performance from Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company and DaDa Ensemble to a packed out Music Room at the Philharmonic.
Over the course of ten workshops,
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic musicians Georgina Aasgaard and Jon Hering and DaDa freelance musicians David Kelly and George Jenkins mentored five Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company musicians, five DaDa Ensemble members and one trainee lead musician to help create exciting and innovative new compositions which were shared at the event.
Taking us on a journey from Ballroom Fantasy, through Brasilia and onto a story of The Singing Cowgirls that had the audience on their feet, the night showcased the hard work and talent of the artists involved.
The young musicians finished the night with a well deserved standing ovation.
You can listen to interviews with our young ensemble musicians, or read the transcripts of their interviews here:

"Just getting in a room and playing music, a bunch of good musicians, and, you know, writing songs and, you know, just having fun, suggesting ideas, let's do this, let's do that, and doing all, you know, actually writing it out and getting the music out there. It's like, that's pretty cool. Like, you know, that's, that's like, something I find amazing." Thomas
Journalist and podcaster Tom Walker was at the event to capture the atmosphere for our 'Power not Pity' podcast, so look out for that episode dropping very soon.
