DaDa would like to pay tribute to the wonderful artist and activist Jackie Hagan after hearing about her death last week.
Jackie was a force of nature and unique in her commitment to openness without shame - something we could all learn from.
Her incredible wit and insightfulful humour shone both on and off stage. Her honesty about herself and the situations she found herself in was refreshing and her observations of human life, often at its most raw, were humbling, generous and forgiving.
Jackie last worked with DaDa in 2019 as a panel member at the Edward Rushton Social Justice Lecture highlighting women in disability arts and again that same evening as a performer in our RAW cabaret hosted by Midgete Bardot.
She was clever and gorgeous and honest and funny and our Facebook feeds and lives will be empty without her.
We will miss not being able to see her perform or work with her again and she will be remembered fondly by everyone here who met her.
We'd like to offer our condolences and send love and strength to all her family and friends.
Like so many, gone too soon.
