‘Permission to Speak…’ Workshop with Claire Cunningham

In this workshop, Claire will introduce participants to techniques that are key to successful collaboration with other dancers and with different bodies – building communication and trust, layers of perception and exploring the use of language to reveal our relationship to our bodies and methods of expression.

‘Permission to speak’ is an intensive exploration of her creative process. Focusing on movement-based and theoretical explorations of artistic practise with no expectations of a performative outcome.

This workshop is aimed at individuals with established dance or physical practice. Please let us know if you have any access requirements in advance.

Claire Cunningham is a multi-disciplinary performer and choreographer based in Glasgow. Originally a classically-trained singer she began to work in dance in 2005, after working with US choreographer Jess Curtis who kindled her interest in movement.

The workshop is presented in collaboration with Bluecoat and Liverpool Improvisation Collective as part of INHABIT – a programme of New Dance for new audiences funded by Esmee Fairbairn.
