Ruth is seen as a leader, pioneer in her field, and is passionate about empowering disabled artists, challenging social attitudes and pushing boundaries in the disability arts scene.
Ruth is also on the Boards of DisArt [ Michigan, USA], Unlimited Commissions, and a Council member of Arts Council of Wales. She has been a Deputy Lieutenant for Merseyside since 2015 and was awarded an MBE in 2016. Ruth is also an honorary fellow of Liverpool John Moore's University.
