Board Members and Advisors

What is your role at DaDa?
I'm a trustee at DaDaFest. I bring current experience of charity management and governance to the board. I'm delighted to be returning to contributing to (and benefitting from) the creativity and challenge of this sector, after several years away from working in disability arts.

What does that mean?
As a trustee, I provide governance to the charity. This includes both supporting and challenging senior staff, as a critical friend. Trustees keep an eye on long term plans, making sure DaDaFest stays true to it's values and purpose, and that our work has lots of impact. We consider risks carefully, aim to look after our staff and artists well, ensure our finances are well planned and managed, and take a particular interest in safeguarding, equity and justice. And many other things too!

What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of DaDaFest, I live in Chester, where I run a Rape Crisis Centre charity supporting survivors of sexual violence. I also serve as a trustee at Quakers in Britain, and spend my spare time ferrying my children around, reading books and faffing on social media.

Contact me if...
You care about DaDaFest and are also interested in serving as a trustee. I love being a trustee and get very enthusiastic and encouraging! I also really value hearing insights, thoughts and opinions that challenge my thinking as a non-disabled person, and keep me alert to the workings of privelege and power.
