Following the success of Can I Start Again Please in 2016 Sue MacLaine Company is delighted to be bringing its new show vessel to DaDaFest International.

vessel is about the medieval practice of Anchoritism, a life of strict and irreversible enclosure entered into by an elaborate ceremony during which the last rites were administered. Their lives defined by the parameters of a locked cell housed within a church; a miniature world of morality, scrutiny and spiritual survival.

It is about withdrawal, silencing, containment, banishment, sovereignty and personhood. vessel is about how we hold our history and how history holds us and contemplates notions of radical togetherness and radical aloneness.

BSL is integrated into the performance.
