Our vision is to inspire, develop and celebrate talent and excellence in disability and deaf arts.
DaDaFest is an innovative disability arts organisation based in Liverpool, delivering the Festival and other arts events to promote high quality disability & deaf arts from unique cultural perspectives. It also produces opportunities for disabled and d/Deaf people to access the arts, including training and a young people’s programme.
DaDaFest is a cutting edge Disability and Deaf Arts Agency, working not only from its base in Liverpool, but across the North West, Nationally and Internationally.
History
DaDa – Disability and Deaf Arts, the company behind DaDaFest has been delivering Disability arts projects since it was first founded as Arts Integrated Merseyside or AIM [part of the Shape network] in 1984.
It became one of the first disability control-led Arts Forums, breaking away from Shape in 1986 and eventually being set up in 1990 as North West Disability Arts Forum [or NWDAF].
After delivering a successful DaDaFest annually since 2001, the festival will be continuing as a biennial event and will remain truly ambitious and international in scale.
