Ruth started working with the company in 1997, becoming full time in 2001. As the company has evolved Ruth has moved from being Manager, CEO and now Artistic Director – taking a lead on the arts programming and vision.  She also regularly presents at events, has developed and curated work in venues across the globe.

Initially trained in dance and drama she has been performing since early her 20s, writing productions, delivering theatre skills and movement workshops.  It was coming across the disability art movement in the mid '90s that she began to really find her voice and has immersed herself in disability arts and politics as an activist and disability arts programmer and producer alongside the development of DaDaFest.

Due to the impact of this work, Ruth has gained several accolades including a MBE for services to disability and deaf arts, has been appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside and was collated as an honorary Canon by Liverpool Cathedral in October 2016. She has no spare time!
