Bloggers Reception – Invitation
Art of the Lived Experiment
at the Bluecoat (School Lane, Liverpool, L1 3BX)
Saturday 8 November, 3pm
Blogger? Freelance writer? DaDaFest and The Double Negative are thrilled to invite you to a special event for the ‘Art of the Lived Experiment’ exhibition as part of DaDaFest – a disability and d/Deaf arts festival. An opportunity to talk directly with Curator Aaron Williamson and have a look at the exhibition, this event will also be an important opportunity to meet and socialise with other writers and gain support from your peers, in addition to discussing review approaches and publishing platforms with The Double Negative editor Laura Robertson.
The exhibition takes a bold approach to presenting work within the context of a disability arts festival, with the artists invited to make and exhibit work responding to the notion of lived experiment. The works address the idea that both art and life are in a state of continual change and uncertainty. Its starting point is the practice of alchemy, taking its magical, transformative and experimental associations as a template with which to consider practices employed by contemporary artists. You can view the exhibition, either on the preview night (7th Nov, 6-9pm – invite attached) on the morning on the 8th, or before this event at a gallery tour at 2pm.
Developed in partnership with The Double Negative, this event is intended to address some of the themes of the exhibition to emerging and experienced bloggers alike within both the arts & disability fields of interest. Attendees will be given a complimentary copy of the exhibition publication (subject to availability, RRP £12) and a glass of wine/ hot drink.
If you are interested in coming along, let us know by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 0151 707 1733. Please let us know if you have any access requirements. More about the exhibition can be viewed here.
